The bot joins but there is no sound, or nothing starts at all. Here are the actual causes in order of likelihood, and what fixes each one.

When a music bot goes quiet, the cause is almost always one of a handful of things. This list is ordered by how often each one turns out to be the answer.
The bot plays into the channel you are in. If you run /play from outside a voice channel, there is nowhere to play.
Fix: join a voice channel first. If the bot is already sitting in a different channel with an active queue, either join that one or run /stop and start again from yours.
Beatra needs Connect, Speak, Use Voice Activity, Send Messages, Embed Links and Use Application Commands.
Fix: check both the bot's role in Server Settings → Roles and the permission overrides on the specific voice and text channels. A channel override beats a role permission, which is why a bot that works in one channel can be silent in another.
A moderator can right-click a bot and mute it exactly like a person, and nothing about that is obvious afterwards.
Fix: right-click Beatra in the voice channel and check it is not muted. In stage channels, it also needs to be a speaker.
A channel with a user limit that is already reached will not let the bot in.
Fix: raise or remove the limit, or grant the bot Move Members, which lets it bypass the limit.
Age-restricted, region-blocked and removed uploads cannot be played. Beatra skips them and moves on, which can look like "it skips everything" if a whole playlist comes from the same blocked source.
Fix: try the same song from a different source, or paste a direct link. Search by name rather than pasting one specific upload.
Bandcamp, Anghami, Amazon Music, Yandex Music, Audiomack, Mixcloud and Twitch links are refused rather than played — they block automated access or render only in a browser.
Fix: search for the track by name; it is nearly always available from a supported source.
Regional voice outages and overloaded regions cause drops, robotic audio and silent connections.
Fix: check discordstatus.com, then try a Region Override in the channel settings. Also drop the channel bitrate — a busy server at maximum bitrate stutters more, not less.
Music platforms rate-limit automated access aggressively. Beatra spreads its requests across a rotating pool of network routes and falls back to another source when one refuses, so this usually resolves by itself within minutes.
Fix: wait a moment and retry, or play a different track. If everything fails at once, check beatra.app/status — that is what it is for.
Discord lets server admins disable specific commands per role or per channel, and the bot never sees the attempt.
Fix: Server Settings → Integrations → Beatra and check the command permissions. Text commands with the server prefix (!play) are a quick way to confirm this is the cause.
If the bot worked yesterday and not today, a role change, a channel override or a category permission is the usual culprit.
Fix: re-invite the bot with the standard invite link; it re-applies the permissions it needs without removing the bot or losing any data.
Check beatra.app/status first, then bring the details to the support server: what you ran, what you expected, what happened, the server and roughly when. Screenshots of the error message save a lot of back and forth.
