Losing touch with the ground

Watch as I lift off

Not here, yet not there either

Wanting dearly to run

Further and further away

Keep floating, no escape

Perpetually gone astray

Trying to control, just to fail

Not able to persevere

Disconnection between what is

And what clearly should be

Leaving me breathless, bare, brittle

Trying to flee reality

Transient actuality

No way to disagree

Everything once clear and true

No longer exposed to me now

Looking forward, moving back

Reach out, never able to grasp
