I Saw God in a Homeless Man Yelling at the Sky

Stocks prices are record high

Profits that we've never seen

And we'll continue to not see them

Victims of our empathy

Governments been shut down for some weeks

And still we're chugging on

If that ain't proof enough we don't need them here to Get things done

We give them all our money they just use it to drop bombs

We know when it comes down to it that

We take care of us

You've been feeling really low

Barely leaving bed

And when we try to have a conversation

It's like you aren't there

And I know the weight of everything gets heavy on your shoulders

And you're the type to try to sleep until all of it's over

And when we try to talk about I just can't relate

Cause I'm the type that keeps moving to to outrun all the pain

They'll tell you that you're crazy

Try to lock you in a prison

If you dare to question why our worth is measured in production

I saw homeless man yelling at the sky, to ask god for some help

And I know she can't do nothin that we can't do for ourselves

But that guy yelling at the sky downtown is starting to make sense

And I'm not sure if that's good or not but I'm listening in case

And he might be on drugs or trapped inside some grand delusion

But I can't say I'd act any different if I was in his position

Sometimes yellings all that you can do to cope with the situation

And he looks more like god to me than any

Politician does
