We Are the Ones

We say goodbye

to everything that was our former life

and as we walk away we close our eyes

and remember who we were for one last time and we can't help but think and wonder why

but we lost ourselves along the way

and it's nothing looking back will ever change.

We search the skies for stars that may point the way as the sun forever sets on this day.

But we are the ones the ones to blame cuz we knew it all was wrong though we remained and we all refused to change when we knew it all along but threw it away.

We will miss these colors as they fade away to gray and we will soon discover that we had it made.

Sorry won't cut it but there's no looking back.
