my head’s always going a hundred miles an hour so you’d think my mouth would be able to run that fast too

and for a while I was convinced that we were underwater but I’m only choking on the words I’d like to say to you

so my journal’s just a long list of unposted letters ’cause I go to speak and I don’t make a sound

and maybe I’m just one for irony ’cause I’m so hard to read but i’ve got everything i think written down

so we’ll sit in silence cuz you can’t talk over nothing, keep holding my thoughts to ransom

and I’ll keep writing these songs in the hopes of something making any sense to someone

and I often think knowing me’s a strain on the eyes ’cause finding out what I really mean takes reading between the lines

so I sent you a song that I thought that you might like - could you tell that I was saying that you’re someone I don’t mind?
