How to Display Song Lyrics in Discord with Beatra

Beatra's /lyrics command lets you view song lyrics directly inside Discord without leaving your server. Whether you're settling a debate about what a song actually says or just want to follow along, it works in seconds.

How to Use /lyrics

Just type /lyrics while a song is playing:

/lyrics

Beatra will search for the lyrics of the currently playing track and post them in a formatted embed.

You can also search lyrics for a specific song:

/lyrics query: Bohemian Rhapsody Queen

What Kind of Lyrics Does Beatra Show?

Beatra fetches lyrics from a lyrics database and displays them as static text in the embed. The lyrics are formatted with sections clearly labeled (verse, chorus, bridge, etc.) where available.

Supported Sources

Lyrics are sourced from Genius and similar databases, giving coverage across:

Pop and mainstream hits
Classic rock and older catalog tracks
Hip-hop and R&B
Electronic and indie music
International tracks (where available)

Some very new releases or niche tracks may not have lyrics available yet.

Tips for Best Results

If lyrics are wrong or not found: Use the manual search option:

/lyrics query: artist name song title

For non-English songs: Lyrics support varies by language. Popular tracks in Spanish, French, Korean, and Japanese often have lyrics available.

Playing a long album or playlist? Run /lyrics again after each track changes — Beatra fetches lyrics fresh for each song.

Using Lyrics with Other Commands

Pair /lyrics with /nowplaying for the full song experience:

/nowplaying shows album art, track progress, audio effects, and playback controls
/lyrics shows the full song text

Both commands work in any text channel — you do not need to be in the voice channel to run them.

Premium and Lyrics

Lyrics are available on the free plan. Beatra Premium gives you access to higher quality audio and extended features, but the lyrics command itself is free for everyone.

Common Issues

"No lyrics found" — The track is too new, niche, or instrumental. Try the manual query with artist and title.

Wrong lyrics — The bot matched a different version (live, remix, cover). Try the query option with more specific terms.

Lyrics cut off — Very long songs may have truncated displays due to Discord's embed character limits. The most important sections are always shown.
