How to Play Spotify Music on Discord with Beatra
Spotify does not natively allow bots to stream audio directly. However, Beatra resolves Spotify tracks by matching them to high-quality YouTube equivalents — so your listeners hear the exact song without needing a Spotify subscription themselves.
How Beatra Handles Spotify
When you paste a Spotify link, Beatra:
- Fetches the track metadata (title, artist, ISRC code) from Spotify
- Searches YouTube using the ISRC for an exact match
- Streams the matched YouTube audio into your voice channel
The result is seamless — the track embed shows the Spotify artwork, title, and artist while the audio streams at full quality.

- Use the ISRC match — Beatra prioritizes exact ISRC lookups, which means you get the official studio recording rather than a cover version 90%+ of the time
- Album imports are ordered — tracks come in the original album track order
- Playlist limits — free users can queue up to 100 tracks from a Spotify playlist; Premium users up to 2,000
Can I Use Spotify Artist Radio?
Not directly with a URL, but you can use autoplay mode. Type /autoplay to turn it on and Beatra will keep discovering similar tracks when the queue empties — similar to Spotify's radio feature.

Troubleshooting
"Track not found" — Some tracks are only available in certain regions. Try the YouTube equivalent directly with /play query: artist song name.
